Description of Plant:
Calathea lancifolia, also known as the Rattlesnake Plant, is a tropical beauty native to Brazil. Its long, narrow leaves feature a dramatic pattern of dark green and light green stripes, with purple undersides, resembling the skin of a rattlesnake. As a member of the Marantaceae family, it has a distinctive habit of folding its leaves upward at night. It thrives in humid environments and makes an excellent addition to both low-light and bright spaces.

Growth Habit:
Grows up to 2–3 feet tall and about 1–2 feet wide. The long, lance-shaped leaves stand upright on slender stems, creating a full, bushy appearance.

Watering Instructions:
Prefers consistently moist soil but should not be soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Calathea plants are sensitive to chlorine and fluoride, so it’s best to use distilled or non-chlorinated water if possible.
